Cooling without Air-conditioning

In recent years, both research and new installations of Passive and Hybrid Downdraught Cooling have been carried out worldwide and a few pioneering and seminal buildings have highlighted the advantages of the integration of PHDC systems as an alternative to mechanical cooling. An opportunity now presents itself in Malta to attend a unique event at St James Cavalier Centre for Creativity, Valletta. The two day event will focus on the more recent developments and applications in the field of passive and hybrid downdraught cooling in buildings around the world.

The Chamber of Architects (Kamra tal-Periti) said today that it commends and supports the government’s decision to proceed with the City Gate project and the choice of Renzo Piano as architect. It also urged the government to consider the status of the Guidelines for the Regeneration of Valletta drawn up by Mr Piano himself in his previous commission.
